Kathleen Mulready
Director of Education
Kathleen Mulready is a dedicated educator who has provided math intervention, tutoring, and test preparation for K-12 students for almost two decades. Having taught both in schools and privately, Kathleen has a deep understanding of the challenges students face and believes a patient, warm, and compassionate approach is key to connecting with each student and addressing their individual needs. Kathleen aims to create a positive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. She is committed to helping her students bridge the gaps in their understanding and build the foundational skills they need to succeed in their academic pursuits. Kathleen knows that tutoring is not just about helping students achieve better grades, but also about building confidence in their abilities.
In addition to working with students in New York City for the last 15 years, Kathleen spent seven years as the Director of Education at Brooklyn Math Tutors, giving her a comprehensive understanding of the landscape of New York City schools. Her students have attended district and city-wide public elementary and middle schools, specialized high schools, and private schools in both Brooklyn and Manhattan. Kathleen has guided students and parents through middle school, high school, and college admissions, and remains close with many of the families she has supported over the years.
Kathleen holds degrees from Tufts University and The San Francisco Conservatory of Music, has obtained professional development through the Stanford Graduate School of Education and other accredited mathematics education workshops, and participated in two yearlong seminars with the National SEED Project. Kathleen serves on the board of directors for Amuse Singers, an NYC treble ensemble, as well as on the advisory board for the Old First Nursery School in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Kathleen lives in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn with her husband and two daughters.
