Nolan R

High School Math & Science

Nolan graduated from Bard College with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics.

He has worked for the Bard Prison Initiative for three years, where he designed and taught High School Equivalency classes in Math, Science, Social Studies, and Writing. He's also worked as a tutor for over 6 years, with students from the 3rd grade through college. He has years of experience tutoring HS math, Calculus I and II, Physics, General Chemistry, and Biology, as well as for the ACT, SAT, and SHSAT exams.

Nolan believes that one-on-one tutoring is unique and effective because it requires students to think about details, ask questions, and engage in discussion of their ideas. It creates space for the undivided attention of the teacher and meaningful affirmation of the student's practice.

In his free time, Nolan enjoys playing basketball, swimming, and learning to draw. He loves working towards long trips, which has included journeys across China, America, Turkey, Lebanon, Portugal, and Ireland.
